Ladder to lower platform

Pretty much finished... but will work on a few more bits and bobs. Ladder down to the lower platform. - UNFINISHED due to minor details.

How Not To Use nCloth

I Definately did NOT do this right this time! This is clearly how not to use constraints and nCloth!! It all just seemed to fall to pieces. I'm sure I'll get it soon enough.

Research: Dock Images

These are real images I took from my holiday in France near St. Jean De Monts. This place was a quaint town with a Port. As you can see some of the images we can use to style some of our own 3D work!!!!

This next set of images are photos taken by my girlfriend on her trip in the summer to Hong Kong. All these photos have been chosen from over 200 hundred to help me with my project of a digital environment. I was looking for textures and interesting architecture.
This image I think is just perfect when looking at textures. The high rise building looks as though the years have got the better of it and the weather has really taken its toll.
A boat... a boat which we could model... possibly not in our medieval/tudor scene however its still interesting for reference and therefore still valid. Also the water plain looks good here. Very crisp... Not quite sure what I mean but I feel it's the right term ... 'crisp'.

These last three images look again outstounding when looking at textures, modeling and water!! I love the look of the shanty metal shack however it will not really be useful unless I use that corregated metal look on a roof somewhere as a shelter in our docks perhaps. Just an idea.

Update Site - For the better

So I guess it's pretty obvious - I've been playing about with the Html of this page so it fits the modern day screens that we use at Rave and I use at home.  Couldn't deal with that thin column down the middle it was doing my head in.  I also tweaked a few other things such as size, of the second header and the Caps locks etc.  I think it looks better!

Water Test

Managed to create this simple water test for an idea of what it may look like when we use water in our work as a group later on. Still needs work I understand that but I think its a good starting point.

Research: Handle & Window

Been googleing again - now we can start modelling with an idea of what we want the Houses to look like. Here I've got a few doors and simple window plans for us to base our work on as Simon wants to try and get our piece very tudorific! I'll try and create something using these images at a later stage - closer to the middle of our project when it all falls into place!

Cloud and Water Test 01

Yeah, so I've now been playing with sea and clouds now. 3D fluid containers. Its been going ok. I've managed to make clouds easily after following a tutorial I found. Water I've played with before so I know the basics of both. Just really quickly mapped out a simple scene so that the group can understand the clouds and water in relation to the set.

Also... heres a general layout I came up with today for everyone to work from.  So we don't get confused... the basic route is obviously not fixed.  I think it'll be good for reference though.

Rooftop Test 01

Ok so I've touched on Particles before but nothing really that indepth... now I'm just beginning to experiment with a few more posibilities such as creating an emmitter.... making the particles that come from that collide with something (chimney) and then setting a Goal for the particles to head towards... interesting stuff but a bit complicated... Think theres a whole load more different bits and bobs I can try out here as well.... but not now!

1st attempt here not looking great!

2nd attempt here.... starting to look slightly better I feel
3rd attempt.... hmmm this could work.
